"I am excited to continue my involvement with AIA Colorado South as president. I have enjoyed seeing the progress and momentum the chapter has experienced in the last few years. The development of an AIA Colorado South strategic plan has helped focus our goals and chapter direction. Moving these ideas forward and seeing the impact on our local communities and AIA Colorado South chapter members will be my major focus in the coming years. I look forward to serving on the AIA Colorado South board of directors.”

"I’m enthusiastic to be involved with the local chapter again after serving in the past at the treasurer position. The AIA Colorado South chapter has made steady progress in galvanizing local stakeholders to look at ways to improve our built environment. I’ll bring my architecture and planning experience from over the last decade at HB&A to continue to raise awareness of how design and planning impact all of us here in Southern Colorado. Looking at the board of directors and the support AIA has locally in our community is encouraging. Our members have worked to promote architects as leaders in sustainability, downtown development issues and as advocates for local design. We have a voice and we need to be passionate about how we communicate and use our strengths for the advancement of our profession at all levels.”

"I am a licensed architect with CSNA Architects. As a long time AIA member and previous chapter president, I am returning to the board as secretary. As so many members and firms continue to struggle, it has never been more important for the board to provide support for members and advocacy for the profession. Communication between the local membership and the board, between the board and AIA Colorado, is the secretary's responsibility. AIA Colorado South can count on my best efforts at this communication and my support of the membership.”

"As our state gets ready to host the AIA National convention in 2013, I am excited to serve on the AIA Colorado South board of directors in the up-coming year. After moving to Colorado Springs over ten years ago to be closer to my family roots, I have enjoyed living near the mountains and working with Bollar Cruz Architects on local projects and those throughout the state. I have a B.E.D. from Texas A&M University and a M.Arch from the University of Colorado at Denver. Even before I obtained my license in 2008, I participated in AIA Colorado South events as an Associate AIA member and I look forward to giving back some of my time to make our local chapter even better in the future.”

"As I consider the 2011 Board, I am enthusiastic about the level of passion and expertise we have assembled, and about the strategic alliances we will be forging with our planning, governmental and educational colleagues. I look forward to working collaboratively with this group and the larger AIA membership to continue the efforts from past boards and to further position AIA as the go-to organization on matters pertaining to design and the built environment. We as a board look forward to bringing the membership enhanced value through quality programs that are cutting-edge and relevant to your practices- not just programs that earn you a credit. We look forward to working with AIA Colorado in the area of advocacy to maintain and enhance the value of a professional license to practice architecture in Colorado. We welcome your comments, suggestions and, most of all, your participation in the coming year to help us in these endeavors.”

"I am quite excited to serve on the AIA Board as a new resident to Colorado Springs. After moving from Omaha, Nebraska last year I have wanted to be involved with the local AIA Community. During my education at the University of Nebraska and early career working for a great commercial firm I have spent many years participating in local organizations. This position gives me the chance to bring new ideas and events to southern Colorado and Colorado Springs. I am passionate about developing the future architects like myself, and creating opportunities where we can flourish in a small community.”

"As a Colorado Springs resident for the past eight years, I have taken to heart the mission/vision statement of AIA Colorado South "to improve and sustain the quality of the built environment.” Being on the board and executive committee for the past two years has inspired me to also be on the Urban Design Committee, which is working directly toward the mission/vision statement. By taking a director position, this allows me to devote more time to the Urban Design Committee while still providing a voice from a young professional’s point-of-view to the board.”

"My career in architecture began in 1993 as an intern at Klipp while studying Environmental Design at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Over the past 19 years, my work experience at has included projects in K-12 education, higher education, medical and laboratory research, local and federal government administration, as well as private sector work. Working closely with design professionals and client groups, I've developed a passion for sustainable design and integrated project management. I believe that close communication during the design process and vigilant implementation into the built environment can produce successful projects that can benefit generations by laying the groundwork for responsible development and design.”

"As a new Associate AIA member I am excited to be as involved as possible with my local AIA chapter. By being on the board of directors I hope to gain insight and experience from my fellow AIA members. Since 2004 I have been an AIAS member. I recently graduated from the master's program at University of Colorado Denver, changing my membership status to Associate AIA. This past year I was the recipient of the TEPA Grant (which paid for my membership dues with the premise I was an 'active' member). Upon receiving the grant I immediately joined the Urban Design Committee and was able to help with the SDAT visit/preparation. I am also currently on several AIA National Convention Committees to help prepare for the AIA National 2012 Convention here in Denver. I am excited to immerse myself further into the happenings of AIA. I experienced my first AIA Colorado Design Conference this fall in Keystone and had a blast and look forward to what is yet to come. I hope that I can be a valid voice for my fellow emerging professionals.”
