Associate AIA - Individuals not licensed to practice architecture, but who meet one of the following criteria: Become an Associate AIA member today!
- Intern, who is an individual participating in career responsibilities recognized by licensing authorities as constituting credit toward licensure
- Individual working under the supervision of an architect in a professional or technical capacity
- ARE candidate
- A faculty member in a university program in architecture
- Individual holding a professional degree in architecture Eligible individuals must provide a copy of their diploma.
- Individual licensed in another country, but not in the United States
New Graduate Associate AIA - AIA National extends a special offer to individuals who have graduated with a degree in architecture from an accredited school of architecture. This offer provides qualified individuals free membership at the national level ending on Dec. 31 of the year following graduation. New Graduate members still must pay state and local dues. Professional Affiliate - (State and Local Membership Only) Individuals with established professional reputations who are registered to practice their profession where such requirements exist, or persons who are employed outside of the architectural practice, but are involved in positions related to the field of architecture may become professional affiliate members. Student Affiliate - (State and Local Membership Only) Any undergraduate or post-graduate student enrolled in architectural design or construction related programs (excluding those students who are eligible to be an AIAS member), located anywhere within the state of Colorado may become a student affiliate member.
