Transfers & Updates

AIA and Associate AIA members: If you have moved into/out-of the state of Colorado, or if you have moved into/out-of your local chapter, you will need to transfer your AIA membership. Download the transfer form and return it to:

Professional Affiliate and Student Affiliate members can transfer within the state of Colorado only. Transfers will occur automatically when the update address form is completed. Professional Affiliate and Student Affiliate memberships cannot transfer to other AIA state chapters/components.

Upgrades

Members are eligible to upgrade from Associate AIA to AIA once they are currently licensed to practice architecture in the United States. A copy of your current license is required to process your membership. To upgrade your membership from Assoc. AIA to AIA, download the upgrade form.

Emeritus

Members are eligible to upgrade to Emeritus if they have been in good standing with AIA for 15 successive years immediately prior to his or her application, and either (i) has attained the age of 70 and is retired from an occupation related to the profession of architecture, or (ii) is so incapacitated as to be unable to work in an occupation related to the profession of architecture.
